Meet Dr. Mike Vorozilchak – ChiropractorHi, I’m Mike and I am one of the chiropractors at FLFCW, along with my wife, Meredith. From an early age, I knew I wanted to help people and always just assumed I would become a medical doctor. Throughout college, though, I spent my summers working in a hospital and started to slowly realize that traditional medical care was not where my heart was at. The patients I worked with during this time were my best teachers. They shared with me their regrets about not taking better care of their body throughout their life and their wishes to go back in time and get it right. They shared their frustrations about all of the pills they were on and how they felt like they were “just a number” when they visited their doctor’s office. They shared how they wanted to truly heal and get well, not just feel better or mask the problem, but that they didn’t know how, or thought it would be too hard, or didn’t believe they had the ability to do it. They shared their worry about the future and their fears of illness and of dying and how they felt like they were on a downward spiral. They discussed how they felt like victims of their circumstances and that the health challenges they were dealing with were caused by things beyond their control, such as bad genes, bad germs, or just plain bad luck. They shared their feelings of anxiety, depression, fatigue, and burnout and their desires to feel youthful, energized, fit, active, and vibrant. They shared their concerns about their kids and their grandkids and how the younger generations seems to have “all these problems that weren’t around when we were younger”. Every encounter I had started pointing me in a new direction. I felt a burning desire to help inspire people to shift their thinking about health and healing. I wanted to figure out the absolute best ingredients to living a healthy lifestyle, and how to heal disease and overcome illness naturally, and how to maximize performance, longevity, and quality of life. I wanted to learn about all of the different approaches and perspectives on health and healing and try to create a simple blueprint for everyone to benefit from. I was introduced to the healing art of chiropractic and immediately resonated with its principles, methods, and ideologies. I was amazed at how simple but how powerful and impactful it was and about all of the millions of people who it has helped. I am excited to bring together everything I have learned and experienced and share it with our community. Meet Dr. Meredith Vorozilchak – ChiropractorHi, I’m Meredith and am also one of the chiropractors at FLFCW. My journey into chiropractic has been very exciting, because it was firsthand experience that led me to change my career and allow me to discover my true passion in life. Growing up, I loved sports and was involved with lacrosse, soccer, and swimming, among other things. I loved being part of a team and loved being active. When I went to Ithaca College, my passion for sports continued and I played D-III lacrosse and pursued a degree in Sports Management. I then went on to get my masters degree in Sports Administration from Canisius College and started working for the athletic department at Cornell University. My goal was to become a collegiate athletic director and I was really enjoying my career path and the opportunities ahead of me. But, as fate would have it, my passions and interests took an unexpected turn. In 2007, when Mike and I were planning our wedding, we were also discussing how great it would be to open a family-run and family-centered chiropractic and wellness office. We went to work on developing our plan, finding our ideal location (which happened to be the same building in Geneva where my grandfather and uncle had their OB/GYN practices years earlier), and eventually opened our doors in November of that year. My thought was that I would put my career in the sports world on hold for a few years, become the office director of our health center for a while, and eventually continue my pursuit of becoming an athletic director. But, within a few months of opening our doors, I became increasingly amazed at all of the incredible success stories our practice members were sharing and how much of an impact chiropractic care was having on their lives. I was especially amazed at how well babies and kids would respond to chiropractic care and the impact it would have on them. I can’t even tell you how many times I would see babies overcome ear infections, acid reflux, constipation, and colic and how kiddos with bed-wetting, ADHD, autism, and so many other challenges were helped, all by applying the principles of chiropractic. I became more and more interested in learning and understanding how all of these results were happening and attended countless seminars and conferences with Mike. At one event in particular in November of 2008, where the focus was on personal breakthroughs and living a fearless life, we were challenged to set a huge goal. In front of a large audience of chiropractors and wellness experts, I stood up and declared that I was going to go back to school to become a chiropractor! Without even realizing it, I had found my true calling and I couldn’t wait to start helping people with this amazing healing art. It was probably the scariest and most exciting time of my life because it was going to be the biggest undertaking I had ever attempted and would require a tremendous commitment of time (4 years, long commutes, and heavy course load), energy (focusing on school and still helping run our office), and finances (an additional $100,000+ of student loan debt). But, without looking back and without focusing on the barriers or obstacles, I dove right in and started taking all of my pre-requisite science courses and applying to school. I got accepted to the New York Chiropractic College and graduated in 2012. I am so excited to be able to return to our office and work side-by-side with Mike and be able to help people experience chiropractic miracles. I am very passionate about helping pregnant women, moms, babies, and little kiddos, as well as athletes and people focused on wellness and peak performance. There is so much that chiropractic care can do for them and I love helping people experience those benefits.
