Dr. Mike Vorozilchak - Wellness Doctor / Chiropractor

Dr. Mike, born and raised in Clarks Summit, PA first made his way to the Finger Lakes in 1998 when he began studying Athletic Training and Exercise Science at Ithaca College. He completed his Bachelor of Science program in 2002 With Honors. While home on summer breaks from college, he worked at a local hospital in Scranton, PA as a Cardiovascular Health Specialist, where he conducted stress tests and led cardiac rehab classes. During the school year, he served as a Wellness Coordinator and Educator at the faculty wellness center and as the Director of Personal Fitness at the campus fitness center. His leadership on campus earned him the Professional Excellence Award for merit, success, contribution, and involvement in Ithaca College and professional communities. A friend introduced him to chiropractic and he knew he had found his calling! His nationwide search of chiropractic schools took him full circle when he discovered the prestigious and challenging program at New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls. It was on his second day in this small town when he crossed paths with a familiar face from Ithaca College, who 5 years later would become his wife and business partner. His achievements while in school include the New York Chiropractic College Student ACA Award, the New York Chiropractic College Distinguished Service Award, the New York Chiropractic College Alumni Class President’s Award, the New York Chiropractic College Educational Opportunity Scholarship, The Kenneth W. Padgett/Alumni Scholarship, the Marvin B. Sosnik Memorial Scholarship, and the honor of being an eight-time recipient of the New York Chiropractic College Academic Scholarship. After graduating as one of the top five members of his class and achieving Summa Cum Laude recognition, he began working with Dr. Robert Berry, a well-known expert in chiropractic corrective care at Advanced Family Chiropractic in Montour Falls, NY. During his time with Dr. Berry, Dr. Mike became only the thirteenth doctor in New York State to complete the rigorous certification program in Clinical Biomechanics of Posture, which is proudly the most documented and researched technique in the field of chiropractic corrective care. Dr. Mike was recognized among his colleagues at a national conference in Chicago in August 2006 and presented with the Clinical Biomechanics of Posture Outstanding Achievement Award.

Meredith Achilles Vorozilchak - Office Director

Meredith is a native of Geneva, NY and graduated from Geneva High School in 2000. She received her Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Ithaca College in 2004. While attending Ithaca, Meredith was an active member of the Ithaca Women’s Lacrosse Team, earning recognition as a First Team Member of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference and First Team Member of the Empire Eight Athletic Conference. She was involved with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, participated in a study abroad program in Australia, and interned with Cornell University’s Athletic Department. She was inducted into the Sigma Iota Epsilon National Management Honor Society and was honored with the Emerson Scholarship. Meredith pursued post-graduate studies in the Master of Science in Sport Administration program at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. She quickly learned the rigors of coordinating a Division I athletic program as she worked as a graduate assistant for the Associate Athletic Director. While tackling her demanding course work, Meredith successfully created and directed promotional events, acquired corporate sponsorships, developed fundraising activities, and managed operations at a variety of athletic competitions. She proudly assisted in the creation of the first-ever National Girls & Women in Sports Day at Canisius and co-directed the Shoes for Shelter 5k Run/Walk. Prior to graduating Summa Cum Laude in December 2005 and for an additional five months thereafter, Meredith returned to the acclaimed Athletic Department at Cornell University to assume a role similar to her duties at Canisius.

Meredith recently decided to take her career another step forward by combining her passion for helping children and her love of the chiropractic and wellness lifestyle and pursuing her doctorate in Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College.  She started attending school on a full-time basis in September 2009 and will complete the program in December 2012.

About the Office

After their engagement, Dr. Mike and Meredith spent many months searching the country for their ideal location to call their home. They realized that they had to look no further than where they already were. Geneva and the Finger Lakes, in close proximity to both Meredith and Mike’s families and their alma mater, had everything they were looking for. They then set their goals on opening a family chiropractic and wellness center and working side by side. Meredith bravely made a career change and started working as the Office Director at Advanced Family Chiropractic in Rochester, NY in the year leading up to their wedding and the subsequent opening of Finger Lakes Family Chiropractic & Wellness.

In July 2007, they fatefully met the new owner of a familiar building in Geneva, which was proudly created and built in the early 1960’s by Meredith’s grandfather, Dr. William Achilles and his medical partners. The building flourished for decades before being outgrown by its occupants in 1997 as it became the home of many medical practices, including the OB/GYN practice of Meredith’s uncle, Dr. Stephen Achilles. In recent years, many people had given up on the building as it looked in disrepair and sat lonely on the corner where it once thrived. Meredith and Mike were so impressed with what the new owner envisioned and with his reputation as a contractor that they knew that they could create the most beautiful and soothing office environment, with an ambiance of health and energy, and bring life back to this nostalgic site.

Dr. Mike and Meredith currently reside in Geneva and can often be seen running through the local streets, usually training for an upcoming race or just for fun. They are both active in the community and hope to inspire others to embrace the benefits of a wellness-oriented lifestyle.
